About the Guiding Lights

H.H. Dr. Ramchandra Pralhad Parnerkar

Dr R.P. Parnerkar (nee 16th July 1916, Indore, India) was an acclaimed scholar, philosopher, economist, gemmologist, sociologist and Spiritual preceptor (Sadguru) in his own right who led a social movement against the back drop of Indian Independence and its successive years to empower the down-trodden and the masses in the remotest parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh provinces of India. Born in a traditional Hindu vedic family, his unique philosophy called: “Poornawad” propounded in 1947, was a philosophical marvel, often cited as the Fifth Veda.

Poornawad or Absolutism is an all-inclusive philosophy and approach to life that dethroned the hitherto popular causal effect relationship between the creator and the creation and established successfully that the mind and matter are two sides of the same coin, both which cannot exist independently without the other. Dr. R. P. Parnerkar was conferred with the coveted Doctor of Philosophy degree by India’s oldest-All India Sanskrit and Spiritual University at Varanasi in 1948 for his revolutionary doctrine of Poornawad.

Dr Parnerkar, who spoke fluent English, Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit besides foreign languages like German, had previously attempted to submit a thesis on the Origin of the Universe to the Berlin University, which was unfortunately destroyed in transit during the Second World War. Dr. Parnerkar continued to write his books and writings in a broad spectrum of languages throughout his life. His books and talks reduced in writing are a treasure house of knowledge that continue to inspire and enlighten generations of people.

Dr. Parnerkar travelled India extensively and brought about a radical change in the lives of the people. A realized being, his mere presence or a glance from his eye would transform people and bring about an immense change in their life.

As an accomplished economist he propounded his theory of Pure Economics, in the 1960s, addressing a concept hitherto not addressed in Economics- determining the valuation of Labour and the inefficiencies in the distribution of Food. Currency notes and fiat money used much in circulation today has no intrinsic value but is the most sought out commodity is a fact that he highlights and points out a way to reduce the spiralling inflation in the economy by an effective means of food distribution.

A connoisseur of Fine arts and music, Dr Parnerkar was an accomplished signer and a well-known poet. His most famous composition in poetry remains- “Abhinav Abhang”, a collection of 21 couplets in Marathi, that philosophers, litterateurs and lyricists consider to be a masterpiece. The 21 Couplets are orchestrated on 21 different Raags of the Indian classical music that further aid in bringing out the subtle meaning of the words used in the couplets.

An Epoch maker and a gem amongst gems, Dr Parnerkar lived a very successful and complete life surrounded by his family and ever-growing number of disciples, both in India and abroad, whose lives and whose future generations he had shaped. He merged in the Absolute and passed away peacefully, at the age of sixty-four years, in April 1980 at Indore leaving his son and most able successor Adv. Dr. Vishnu Ramchandra Parnerkar to continue his noble work across the globe.
